How do you use it?
When you’re filming, it’s the same thing as just picking your footage and then starting it. Editing 3-D with other product’s systems is usually very complicated. With the GoPro 3-D hero package, it makes it simple enough for regular non-techies to edit. The software that is included is called GoPro Cineform studio. Further, the device also records 2-D recordings; they don’t have to record over again if you just want a simple regular video in HD 1080p.
For playback, it is simple. You don’t need expensive equipment or special TV sets. The GoPro 3d Camera comes with a 3-D class. This type of 3-D is different from the 3-D in the movie theater today. You won’t produce a 3-D flick like ones that James Cameron makes, because those required special silver screens as well. Instead, the GoPro 3d Camera produces red and blue 3-D footage, so all you need are 3-D paper glasses (and the package comes with it.) You can also watch this type of 3-D footage on your 3-D TV if you have one in your house. If you don’t, it’s no sweat.
The dual camera package itself is actually pretty small. It also comes in a durable case so you can take your 3-D camera to places or mount it on a car without worrying about something strong destroying the camera. This camera housing is also waterproof, so you can shoot a 3-D view under the waves. This is also great for surfers.
In theory, all GoPro HERO HD cameras will be compatible with the 3-D package. At the moment, it is still pending firmware updates for you could use some of the HD Hero cameras in the housing.
